CASE BOARD OF DIRECTORS UPDATE
Protecting Telework, Enforcing Employee Rights, Continues. In case you missed it: last week’s special edition CASE Files (pw: membersmatter22) covered the Governor’s latest edict, which directed departments to require their employees to return to the office two days per week beginning June 17, 2024. CASE President O’Connor noted to Politico’s reporters that “members have made it clear that they want to fight ‘nonsensical’ return to office mandates, and that the latest declaration from the governor ‘seems as nonsensical as they get.” The Daily Journal and Los Angeles news radio station KNX have also interviewed President O’Connor – all part of CASE’s efforts to get public attention on this urgent issue. Our board will continue to advocate against this needless mandate and any others like it.
CASE continues to meet and confer with those departments that have already provided notice to CASE of a return to office requirement and will continue to do so as the notices come in. CASE will continue to grieve and arbitrate these return-to-work mandates.
To help CASE prepare grievances and get ready for arbitration, consider sharing the impact of return-to-office mandates on your life and work at the link shared in the Reminders section, below.
