July 3, 2023 Special Edition

CASE is pleased to announce that CalHR late Friday approved a 3% general salary increase for all Unit 2-related supervisors and managers, as well as a 4.5% special salary adjustment to the top step of the Supervising ALJ and Assistant Chief ALJ-PUC salary range. The ALJ Special Salary Adjustment will extend the pay range upward by 4.5% to allow for additional salary growth within ALJ classes. Those who, as of July 1, 2023, have been at the top step of their ALJ salary range for at least 12 qualifying pay periods, will see their pay increase 4.5%.

CASE Supervisors and Managers will also see a reduction in the amount paid each month towards Other Post-Employment Benefits (OPEB).

The increased salary and benefits take effect on July 1, 2023 and will be reflected in the pay warrant you receive on August 1.

From the day rank-and-file CASE Members ratified the 2022-25 MOU last summer, CASE has advocated consistently for the inclusion of CASE Supervisors and Managers in the benefits of the negotiated MOU. Unlike rank-and-file salaries which are determined at the bargaining table, supervisor and manager pay is determined through the yearly budget process. With the new fiscal challenges facing the state in the current unsteady economy, it was more important than ever for CASE to remain vigilant on excluded employee pay.
