CASE BOARD OF DIRECTORS UPDATE
CASE Public Service Scholars Award. With college acceptance season nearly upon us, the Board is pleased to announce the first annual CASE Public Service Scholars Award, available exclusively to CASE Members and their dependents bound for college, law school, or graduate school.
To be eligible to apply for an award of up to $1000, the Member or dependent must be enrolled in an accredited institution of higher education and complete an application form. For dependent applicants, the name of the sponsoring CASE Member and their employing department must be included on the application. Applications will be accepted from March 1 through May 1. The application review committee will be looking for applicants who are currently in a career, or plan to pursue a career, in government or another form of service supporting the common good, or applicants who can demonstrate meaningful commitment to serving others by participation in service-oriented academic pursuits, volunteer, or community service. Calling all CASE Runners! Members from any department are invited to join the California DOJ team’s Baker to Vegas Challenge Cup Relay team. This 120-mile, 20-stage foot race begins in Baker, California, and ends in Las Vegas, Nevada, pitting the home team against teams from various local, state, and federal public agencies from across the country and the globe. The team is looking for 7 additional members to embrace the challenge of this highly competitive, grueling, non-stop competition that highlights the work of public servants and offers a chance for cross-agency camaraderie.
