Timekeeping Instructions & Timesheet

Are you required to work more than 40 hours per week?

Please use the timekeeping worksheet to track the number of hours you work each day, and use the notes section to annotate your specific duties each day. The notes section can be a general account of the duties you performed that day, but you do not need to go into detail about how much time each activity took. You may also use the notes section to state if you were allowed breaks or a lunch period. For example:

“During lifer hearings at Corcoran, Commissioner Smith required ALJs to stay until 10 p.m. to complete hearings and did not give us the opportunity to have a lunch break.”

When you have finished annotating your hours and duties for one month, please email it to us at CASE@calattorneys.org, fax it to us at (916) 669-4199 or mail the worksheet to:

We will calculate your average hours per week for the month that you tracked. If CASE can demonstrate that our members are consistently being required to work more than 40 hours per week, we can use that information to support a grievance for a violation of the MOU.
