CASE BOARD OF DIRECTORS’ UPDATE
CASE Members, Legislature Ratify 2022-25 CASE MOU. On Tuesday, the polls closed in the ratification election with over 75% of ballots cast in favor of ratification. This morning the Legislature passed the required CASE MOU legislation, including statutory changes necessary for the implementation of NDI-Family Care Leave. The bill heads now to the Governor’s desk for signature. Once the bill is signed, ratification will be complete.
We’ll include information in a forthcoming edition of CASE Files regarding anticipated implementation timelines for the retroactive July 1, 2022 general salary increase and other terms of the new MOU.
CASE Candidates Certified for Upcoming Board Election. The CASE Elections Committee met this week to certify the nomination petitions received by last Friday’s deadline. The following candidates have been certified for the upcoming Board Election. Polls open October 14. For more information, visit the Elections page at the CASE website (password is membersmatter22). Making Changes? With the CalPERS 2022 Open Enrollment beginning September 19, it’s time to start researching changes you might want to make to your health care plan for next year. You have until October 14 to file changes that will take effect January 1, 2023.
This page outlines plans, rates, and benefit designs for 2023 to help you decide whether to switch coverage. If you want to change plans but keep your doctor, CalPERS advises contacting the plan provider or calling your doctor’s office to ensure they can continue your care if you switch.

- September 30: The last day for Governor Gavin Newsom to sign or veto bills passed by the Legislature before September 1 and in the Governor’s possession on or after September 1.
- October 2: Bills enacted on or before this date take effect January 1, 2023.
