CASE BOARD OF DIRECTORS UPDATE

Inspiring Through Service. A dedication to service unites all CASE Members. Giving back to your local community offers opportunities to not only make a difference and feel great pride, but also reminds your neighbors of your immense contributions as state employees at work and outside of work. Article 9.12 of the CASE MOU provides all CASE legal professionals the opportunity to mentor youth in their communities.

If you commit to mentor a child through a recognized mentoring organization for a minimum of 1 school year, you can use up to 40 hours of Mentoring Leave each calendar year. Mentoring Leave is used in an equal amount to your personal leave (for example, if you need two days off from work to attend a conference, you would use one day of your leave and one day of Mentoring Leave to cover your time).

CASE has collected information from several organizations with opportunities to volunteer statewide. Many qualify for Mentoring Leave, though some may not. You can view these options on the CASE website’s new Community Mentoring page. If you have questions about Mentoring Leave or know of an organization worthy of inclusion in our list, contact CASE. Want to volunteer? Reach out directly to listed organizations at the provided contact information.

Membership Deadline Looms. If you have colleagues who have not yet joined CASE, remind them that the deadline to join to exercise their CASE voting rights in the upcoming election is August 29, 2023. This is also a good opportunity to remind you about our Member Recruitment Incentive Program. If a new member lists you as having referred them on their application at time of submission, you get $100 – and they get career protection, consumer discounts, free life insurance, the satisfaction of knowing they actively contribute to CASE’s advocacy efforts, and so much more!
