CASE BOARD OF DIRECTORS UPDATE
Open Enrollment Starts Next Week. With Open Enrollment beginning next week, now is a good time to consider whether you want to make changes to your plan for next year. As reported previously in CASE Files, premiums are set to increase up to 10.77%, although the rate changes will vary widely from plan to plan.
The CASE MOU provides for increases to the Consolidate Benefit (CoBen) received by each member with CalPERS coverage. The CoBen covers 80% of premiums for the member and family premiums. Here are the new CoBen rates for 2024:
As a service to members, CASE has calculated members’ monthly out-of-pocket cost for all the plans available to active employees. You can review a chart of plans and fees here.
For more information and to explore your 2024 health plan options, log in to your my|CalPERS account or visit the CalPERS Plans & Rates page. You can also use CalHR’s CoBen Calculator to assist you with planning for the coming year. Open Enrollment begins September 18 and ends October 13.
Open Enrollment Virtual Benefits Fair. The Department of Human Resources is hosting a two-day Open Enrollment Virtual Benefits Fair this week to help state employees make informed decisions about the State’s health, dental, and vision plans in 2024. Participants can drop into live webinars with representatives who can answer questions.
The online fair runs today and tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Today’s webinar on CalHR Dental, Vision, and Voluntary Plans runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tomorrow’s live session will feature CalPERS health plans. It starts at noon and ends at 3 pm.
If you can’t attend the live webinars, the recorded sessions will be available on-demand until Open Enrollment ends on October 13. There’s no charge to participate, but registration is required. This link will open the event’s website and registration portal.
